Finally, the first day of the challenge has arrived. I am trying to do the Zone/Paleo thing. I am really good at counting the blocks until it comes to a meal like stuffed green peppers... well I know that it is 3 blocks of protein but what about the pepper and other ingredients used to make it? I don't think I count them, I think I just count it as protein???? right... And what about the almond butter... for my snack I had 2 tablespoons because according to the label it is 7grams protein but also 16 grams of fat.... can I count it for both protein and fat or just protein. CLUELESS
PSG went awesome. Can't wait till we get together again.
Snack before CF: HB egg, 1/2 nectarine, 1 mac. nut, BLACK coffee 1-1-1
Breakfast: more BLACK coffee, cytosport chocolate shake, paleo kit (small) 4-2-5
Lunch: 2 oz shrimp, portabella mushroom heated in little olive oil & a pear & water2-3-2
Dinner: stuffed green pepper, cup of cooked spinach, water 3-?-?
Snack: 2 tablespoons of almond butter & water 1-?-?
total blocks: 11-no clue- no clue but not hungry

Use Sparkpeople.com to figure out your recipes. It will break it down per servings for you, great little tool actually. As for the almond butter, it is a fat only, not protein at all. Hope this helps you out.
carbs are likely neglible for the stuffed peppers- (1 pepp = 1/2B carb) but it depends on what else is in there and what else makes up your meal...salad? another veggie?...and no worries- this will all come easier as you do it longer...GOOD WORK :)
Thank you guys. I appreciate the help. This is a learning experience and it is nice to have people who are helpful!!!!
GIRL!!! I love me some MaraNatha Almond Butter. am staring at a delightful jar right now. but HOLY CATS! is it tres cher at Publix.
so that I don't stress over being perfectly in the ZONE, I merely estimate. My primary focus is to consume ca. equal amounts of fat, protein, and carbs at every meal. know what Sears counts as a protein vs. a fat, i.e., almonds are more fat than protein, but don't worry about being exact.
